It is with a heavy heart that we as a family have been forced with the decision to remove my beautiful wife, the mother of 3 beautiful children of her own (my stepchildren) from the Ecmo machine and the ventilator. Susan Barr-Chasen, you will forever be loved by many! Susan has a Master's degree in Social Work. She worked in the trenches doing assessments on troubled teens in the Philadelphia School District. She worked schools in Kensington and North Philly. She helped so many young people! That's my wife, all she ever did was help people. There are over 25 people here at the hospital to say goodbye. Susan made a huge impact on alot of young people. Susan and I had the most wonderful 9 years together, we were inseparable! Rest easy my love, you are no longer in pain, you have bigger things to take care of in Gods eyes now. Go get em and show them how it's done! I am broken! Thank you everyone for the overwhelming amount of prayers and support through this difficult time, it really helps!

John Hilderbrand

"John Anthony Hilderbrand, 59, died suddenly on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at his newly renovated home in Ardmore.
John was born in Woodbury, New Jersey, in 1960 and has lived in the greater Philadelphia area for most of his life. He was an innovative thought leader with success in leading business development, strategic planning, and process improvement initiatives at Pennsylvania Power & Light Company, as well as Talen Energy. He founded his consulting company eGryphon, LLC. which served companies such as Olenick where he was currently working on a SCADA project. He was recognized as a senior member of IEEE, a U.S. representative for CIGRE and a licensed ham radio operator. He loved jamming out to old time music with his daughter on his claw hammer banjo and Martin guitar.
He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca Hilderbrand, his mother, Josephine Hilderbrand and his brother, William Hilderbrand.
A life celebration will be held in his honor on Friday June 7th at Linwood Park from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. The location of Linwood Park is 199 East Athens Ave., Ardmore, PA. Please note that Linwood Park is handicap accessible and the park does not have any restrooms or drinking fountains.
John will be fondly remembered by family and friends as a loving father and son, a professional engineer, innovator, a licensed ham radio operator, banjo musician and lover of old time musician."
